Unlike the Armour bottle cutter, Ephram's has you lay the bottle down horizontally, which is a little more comfortable. Also, this device is solidly made of metal, which gives us the impression that it will last longer.
Like the Armour, the first step is to score the glass bottle. Then, instead of rapping on it to separate the pieces, you heat the score up over a candle flame, then run an ice cube along the score. You'll hear and see the glass break pretty neatly.
