The long-awaited sequel to "Designs for Lamps" (published in 1986), which offered patterns for simple and elegant small to medium lampshades, "Designs for Lamps II" continues the tradition by bringing together 22 new and innovative lampshade patterns. Some have a "retro" feel, and all are stylish and relatively easy to make, requiring no form. This book is a compilation of the illustrations from a collection of early lighting fixture manufacturers' catalogs issued between 1900 and 1925.

Most stained glass hobbyists and professionals have no access to old stained glass lamp shade catalogs. Many photographs of fine stained glass lamp shades are shown in expensive books, but the books are not readily available to the general public.

The primary purpose of this book, as with any idea book, is to suggest basic themes or designs which can be adapted to, or modified into more appropriate schemes.

Each of the facing pages gives, in addition to dimensions, some other details, such as the number of individual pieces of glass. This information is included to give you an idea of the basic limitation of the design. A lampshade which was originally built as 24" in diameter may not adapt readily to, for instance, a 12" diameter shade because of the detail involved. Observing this note of caution, one can take almost any other liberty one desires as far as transferring sizes or shapes from one application to another.

These 46 full sized patterns for small lamps are printed on one side only of the page to that you don't have to ruin another pattern when you use one. Some hints are given for assembling the panels, but the author assumes you know the basics of the stained glass craft. 96 pages.

The lamps are panel lamps and have optional features such as crowns which may be omitted, and optional numbers of sides. The heights range from 6" to 10". Every lamp in every book appears on the cover in color. Each book has 28 different lamp patterns. Such a bargain! If you buy all 3, you would have 84 different lampshades to make. If you made one each week, you would have quite an electric bill in about a year and a half.

50 full sized patterns as well as 22 color illustrations cover a wide range of subject matter in this important book. Fan lamps are shown in our catalog in section M. The stained glass part of a fan lamp can easily be removed and changed at will, so you can have a wide variety of designs in the bureau to switch around from season to season and from mood to mood, or when one of them gets dirty.

This book contains 16 full-size patterns by five different designers. Their designs include three inverted ceiling lampshades, four table lamp styles and nine swag lamps. Three of the shades incorporate bevels. Assembly instructions included. 46 pages. 8 1/2" x 11". 16 patterns.

Inspired by antique lace and Victorian cut work, these 45 unique lamp patterns each feature open spaces. We have seen some lampshades which were constructed in a hurry which had open spaces, but the open spaces were not included in the pattern.
