Stained Glass CLASSES begin May 5

Stained Glass CLASSES begin May 5
You, too, can learn the rudiments of the craft of stained glass in a relatively short time by enrolling in one of our stained glass courses. We offer Beginner and Advanced courses in the copper foil method on Mondays, as well as a Saturday course on working with lead.
We have designed the Beginner Stained Glass Course for those who have never worked with stained glass, or for those who have a very elementary knowledge. We will teach you how to cut glass, how to work with copper foil and the proper way to solder. We will introduce you to all of the tools of the trade, as well as most of the materials including the various types of glass. When you have completed this course you will have several finished projects to show for it, as well as a mastery of the basic skills used in the craft of stained glass.

You will want to take the Advanced Stained Glass Course if you have completed our Beginner Course, or have previously mastered basic cutting and soldering techniques, and want to start on some more complicated projects. We will teach you how to do larger, more complex panels and projects, such as boxes, terrariums, lamps and the like. Before beginning this course, you should have a project in mind so that you can start right in at the first session.

The next Monday class is scheduled to begin May 5, 2008. Click here to view a detailed description (PDF), and click here to view and print a registration form (PDF). You may also register by adding the desired class session to your shopping cart, below.
In the Basic Lead Course you will learn how to make leaded glass panels and windows. The course is designed for students with some experience cutting glass and soldering but who have little or no experience working with lead. As with all our courses, you will receive plenty of individual instruction tailored to your level.

The next Basic Lead class will be in the fall.

All Whittemore-Durgin students receive a 10% student discount on all items in our store. In addition, each week a special store discount will be offered exclusively for students. You can easily cover the cost of your course with the money saved with these discounts.
