Glass Vault Lights
These objects were made before 1880. They were made to be embedded into the concrete sidewalks in cities like New York and Boston, to let light into the cellars below. We got a few barrels full in 1969 to sell to collectors of old glass objects. They are primitive in structure, having non-optical qualities and chill marks to boot. Paperweights, fish tank decor, window brightener, you name it and you've got it. What a special gift for that favorite goldfish!

Please be aware that they have imperfections, and some have chips. The sidewalks of New York were not very particular, so quality control was not a high priority.

2-1/8" Vault Light
2-1/8" diameter, 3/4" thick. Clear glass with a slight circular recess into which a small photo may be placed and held in with sticky felt. Typically imperfect, some have chips.
