A complete set of steel fusing molds, which will withstand heat as well as any mold, but will not crack the way the ceramic molds tend to do from time to time.
The leaf molds are curved the way a leaf is curved in nature. The front of the mold is shown, but the texture is embossed on both sides. You will use the reverse side to sag the glass into the mold. The leaves are ideal for use in lampshade work, where they impart a sense of realism along the border of the shade. The fruit molds are ideal for making curved fruit for incorporation into lamp shades.
When you cut the glass into the shape of one of these steel molds, you also have the option of laying a piece of wire onto the surface of the glass, where it will imbed itself when the glass softens and sags into the mold. This is a secure way to attach the leaf to a stem if you wish to have a series of leaves in a three dimensional project.
The cost of these molds are but a fraction of the costs of ceramic molds, and are every bit as serviceable.
We have tested these molds in a Paragon QuikFire kiln. Each time you purchase one or more of these molds we will include a set of instructions for preparing these molds for firing in a kiln. You may download the instructions by clicking
