Whenever looking into the firing chamber of your hot kiln, wear these glasses to help protect your eyes.
These green tinted glasses are specially coated to filter out some of the infra-red and ultra-violet light as you peer inside the kiln. They will help protect your eyes from heat. They reduce glare and make it easier to see what's going on in there. They will also add to that air of mystery surrounding you as you impress your family and friends with your arcane activities.
Shelf primer, or wash, is a high temperature, low-fluxing clay and alumina mixture in a special formulation containing suspension agents and a color coded dye that burns off at 800 degrees F. When used according to the directions on the package, shelf primer is the best insurance that your fused work will not stick to the kiln shelf. 24 ounce box.
This brush is imported from China, where it was invented by one Mr. Haik, at the request of his wife Cindy, who was into kilns. It is the best brush available for applying kiln wash, or primer, because it carries lots of the stuff in one load, and produces a very smooth coat. (2-3/8" wide).
A kiln post is used to support a kiln shelf, and may also be used to prop open the lid of the kiln while it is cooling. Will not be affected by the heat.
This 17 gauge wire remains strong in the extreme heat of kiln firings, and withstands high temperature for long periods. Ideal for decorative details on your workpiece. .046" diameter. 10 feet long
This material is a so-called "over-glaze". It consists of clear, low-melting glass, ground to micron size and suspended in a spray medium. It is applied to fusing projects after they are set up ready for firing to assure against devitrification on the glass surface. In our experience, we have rarely found it necessary for projects made from the glass of Spectrum Glass Company in the small pieces used in jewelry work. If you have a larger kiln and make large pieces of fused and sagged glass, you might find this useful, especially if you intend to use some of the more exotic glasses being touted for fusing purposes. 8 ounce bottle.
A complete set of steel fusing molds, which will withstand heat as well as any mold, but will not crack the way the ceramic molds tend to do from time to time.
Assortments of decals. The decals are applied wet, in the same way a common decal is applied. With each order, we will include a complete set of instruction, with the kiln firing temperatures and timing.
An unrivaled selection of antique buttons and similar small pressed glass items that have lain unsullied for more than 70 years in our warehouse.
